Tell me why (this exists)

Hello and welcome to Maxopedia!

Here you’ll find musings by me, Michael Cragg, about all of Swedish living legend Max Martin’s Billboard Hot 100 Top Ten hits. At the moment there are 64 but who knows how many there will be by the end of the week (given how the US charts work now what with streaming etc, it will likely still be 64 but let’s move on).

For example, here’s a thing on the Backstreet Boys’ ‘Everybody (Backstreet’s Back). Or how about this on his most recent Top Ten, Pink’s perfunctory ‘Just Like Fire’? Or some words on the Celine Dion song most people forget about when talking about the songs of Celine Dion, aka, ‘That’s The Way It Is’?

There’s a bigger thing here about what this site is all about (plus a timeline!!), but I can’t figure out how to move that down and make it show up at the top, so that’s why this exists.

As well as writing about the hits, I’ll also be having occasional chats with people involved in Max’s world, and getting anyone who wants to to write about some of the songs that didn’t make the Top Ten.

Actually, seeing as this bit is just an intro thing and will likely be deleted once it’s made its way to the bottom of the home screen, here’s my favourite Max single that should have been HUGE.

Amazing.

Anyway, enjoy Maxopedia!
